The Queen is the Supreme Power in the Realm by Yannis Kyriakides is scheduled for its premiere performance on Thursday, 17 May at 18:00 in the Theater am Tanzbrunnen in Köln. Based on the telegraphic codebooks of the late 19th century, Kyriakides was commissed to compose the piece by MusikFabrik and the ZKM. The concert will be repeated on the 18th of May at the ZKM in Karlsruhe, and again in November 2007 at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in the UK. Kyriakides will be performing the live electronics using Kyma for this semi-composed, semi-improvised piece, and will also be accompanied by live video artist HC Gilje.
