Question (or Task)

I've been going through the manual and have just got to the bit about the transformation buttons in timeline's parameter control window. I understand everything, it's just that the transformation involving the threshold button has the height of a draw rectangle dealing with hysteresis. The manual explains it well but I can't seem to apply hysteresis to a group of varied break points. The threshold is always strict, break points above it are always given a value of 1, and break points below it are always given a value of 0. No matter how tall I draw the box the outcome is always the same. Maybe I've misunderstood. If someone could help me that would be great :)
