kyma•tweaky . Know . CrossfilterSR

Problem

Using the new x.2 crossfilter at 96k sample rate appears to give incorrect results (on my system). you can replicate this with an example - e.g, voice x pottery

  1. convert the 48k sources to 96k files.
  2. switch the dsp to 96k
  3. reload the 96k versions into the example sound
  4. find the results are not the same at all as when everything is at 48k. you get a totally different sound!

(this is otherwise, a wonderful addition to the system!)

Solution

The CrossFilter adjusts its ResponseDuration according to the sample rate and number of processors in your Capybara. Please try checking the NonRealTime box and recording the result to disk.

Thank you! In true kyma style, it's great to have the non-realtime option so we're not inhibited creatively.

I did spot that in the help page, but I was initially wondering why checking the "non-realtime" box didn't appear to make any difference: to go non-realtime you of course need to replace any "maximum" statements in the ResponseDuration field with an actual duration. The sound of this thing is really excellent (quite like convolution?)
