Modular 2002 April 2002 The London College of Music and Media at Thames Valley University are pleased to announce the first annual Modular 2002 event to be held in London on the 27th and 28th of June 2002. The event celebrates the culture behind digital modular synthesiser and processing systems. It will include a day of intensive workshops and seminars and an evening concert featuring important international artists of electronic music. Systems in focus will include Nord Modular, Csound, Max/Msp, Sync Modular, Reaktor, Modular 3, VAZ Modular, Buzz, CPS, Kyma, and Tassman. Workshops and seminars will be given by LCM2 staff and international master synthesists from around the world. These include: Nord Modular: Power emulation of analogue synthesisers / Rob Hordjyk The concert will feature works by dutch artist Roland Kuit who will be using many fully expanded Nord Modulars systems. Included in the concert program is German artist Joker Nies who will be performing using the state of the art Kyma Kapibarra and Max/ Msp systems. These will be performed using 5.1 surround systems for a totally immersive experience. There will be a range of styles including ambient, experimental/electro-acoustic and dance. There will also be an opportunity to experience some unique interactive installations created using Max/Msp and computer animation works made at LCM2.
