Question (or Task)

How do I find the sample length of an audio file at run time?

For example, a Sound with a Spectrum In RAM is fed by a Function Generator; the Spectrum In RAM uses and audio file as its Analysis parameter; the Function Generator uses this expression as its Trigger value "1 bpm: {60/length}" where "length" is the length in seconds of the audio file used in the Spectrum In RAM;

...Is it possible to make a variable such as "length" available to Specturm In RAM?

(I haven't come across this in the manual - my apologies if it is in there somewhere) -- SimonAmarasingham - 24 Apr 2004

Solution(s)

You can use the expression '' sampleFileDuration s. For example:

'alien threat' sampleFileDuration s

This should work on spectrum files as well.
