Offers tough protection for your Paca(rana) in lightweight, minimalist case. Inside the Tom Bihn Vertical Brain Cell, your Paca(rana) is cradled in 8mm thick soft foam padding inside a 4mm hard corrugated plastic shell that protects it from the front, back, and bottom. Affixed to the bottom of the corrugated plastic shell, is a 12mm thick strip of memory foam that acts as an extra layer of cushioning as well as an effective shock absorber. The sides of the Vertical Brain Cell are protected by dense cross-linked closed-cell polyethylene foam. It closes on the top, like a cereal box, with two padded flaps that seal with Aplix® strips (like Velcro®, only longer-lasting.) The Vertical Brain Cell is designed specifically for use inside the Tom Bihn Brain Bag backpack (see below), which comes with removable clips that secure the Vertical Brain Cell in place. If you already have a favorite backpack, chances are the Vertical Brain Cell will fit inside of it but be sure to compare the exterior dimensions of the Vertical Brain Cell to the interior dimensions of your backpack. Should you choose to carry it on its own, the Vertical Brain Cell features two front mesh pockets (perfect for small accessories) as well as attachments for a shoulder strap. The Tom Bihn Brain Bag has a quality nylon/foam/nylon laminated pad on 2" webbing handles, contoured shoulder straps and removable 1" sternum and 2" waist straps. The back is made of Dri-Lex Aero-Spacer mesh and is padded with 3/8", high quality, closed-cell foam. The Brain Bag has two main compartments plus four external pockets. Both main compartments can accept the Annex clips that allow you to clip the Vertical Brain Cell case securely inside the Brain Bag (it comes with Annex clips already installed in the first compartment).
