FireWire: Also known as IEEE 1394 standard or i.Link, FireWire is a high-bandwidth network standard supporting up to 62 devices at 200-800 Mbps. Firewire is meant as a "no hassle" type of connection, allowing the user to attach and detach devices at will without reconfiguring or re-booting the system. FireWire (unlike USB) does not require the presence of a computer on the network.
