Kyma Sound Design Workstation

Symbolic Sound designs, produces, markets and supports what Electronic Musician magazine calls "the most power sound design workstation on the planet". Kyma is a visual language for creating, modifying, and combining sounds and it uses the Capybara as an audio accelerator for computing the audio in real time without using up resources on your computer. Kyma X Revealed! -- Secrets of the Kyma masters! An excellent way to acquaint yourself with the full range of possibilities available in Kyma. If you order the manual before ordering a system, we’ll deduct the cost of the manual when you place your Kyma System order.

Expansions and add ons

Processor cards -- Each card provides two additional processors and 48 megabytes of sample RAM. Up to 12 expansion cards can be added to a Capybara•320, giving a maximum of 28 processors and 672 megabytes of RAM.

Audio I/O modules -- An I/O module adds 4 more channels of 24-bit 100 KHz A/D, D/A, and AES/EBU audio I/O to a basic Kyma System (for a total of 8 channels). One (1) is the maximum number of I/O modules that can be added to a single Capybara.

Accessories

Flight cases -- This ATA flight case lets you check your Capybara as luggage on an airplane. The flight case is made of 6 mm thick plywood covered with blue ABS plastic, aluminum edging, 5 cm thick high-density foam padding inside, locking recessed latches, and telescoping handle and wheels.
Padded carrying case -- This padded nylon case lets you carry your Capybara with you. It has an adjustable shoulder strap, and fits under the seat or in the overhead storage compartment of most airplanes.
